Welcome to Tech Tuesday!
Today I’m going to walk you through creating a YouTube LIVE event! It takes less than 5 minutes, so you’ll be a pro in no time!
Firstly, you’ll want to make sure you have a YouTube account with a channel.
Then, you’ll want to sign in, and go to the “Creator Studio”.
Once you’re in the Creator Studio, you’ll see a section of the left hand menu for Live Streaming, so you’ll want to click that, and then click Events in the menu that opens.
The next part is the last part… create your event! You’ll start just by clicking “New Live Event” and then selecting your options. You can see a quick sample of me going through that process below.
You’ll pick your title, day and time, and add a description and tags. Then you’ll pick whether you want the video to be public (it’ll show up on your channel), unlisted (access only by special link), or private (access only when invited by email).
Click “Create Event” and you’re done!
If you chose public, you can send people to your watch page in advance and they can set a reminder for when you go live!
To start your event, just go back to your Creator Studio under Live Streaming and Events, and click the “Start Hangout On Air” button underneath your event.
The Hangout won’t start live, so you have time to get setup and make sure your lighting is right before you go live!
